Air-Poached Eggs Fryer: The Easy, Quick, and Pot-Free Method

Prepare the ramekins

Lightly spray the inside of each ramekin with a little oil.

You can also use clarified butter or simply brush the sides with a food-grade brush.

This step is important to prevent the eggs from sticking after cooking.

Make sure to cover the bottom and the sides completely.

Add the hot water

Pour approximately 3 to 4 tablespoons of hot water into each ramekin.

Water helps to create a gentle and even cooking process.

It also helps to retain the moisture needed to obtain tender egg whites.

The water should be hot but not necessarily boiling.

Add the eggs

Carefully crack an egg into each ramekin.

Try not to break the yolk.

An intact yolk will give a more aesthetically pleasing and appetizing result.

The eggs are now ready to cook.

Cooking poached eggs in an air fryer

Carefully place the ramekins in the Air Fryer basket.

Bake at 177°C for 5 to 7 minutes .

The exact time depends on the desired result:

Very runny yellow

Approximately 5 minutes.

Slightly creamy yellow

Between 6 and 7 minutes.

Firmer yellow

Between 7 and 8 minutes.

Since each Air Fryer is different, a few tries may be necessary to find your ideal cooking method.

How do I check if it's cooked?

The egg white must be completely set.

The yolk should retain the desired texture.

If the white is still translucent, add another minute.

It is better to monitor the eggs gradually rather than overcooking them.

Remove the eggs from the ramekins

Once cooking is complete, carefully remove the ramekins.

Warning, they will be very hot.

Let them rest for a minute.

Then run a small, flexible spatula over the edges.

If necessary, gently use a knife to loosen the edges.

Gently turn the egg over onto a plate or place it directly onto toast.

Season and serve

Add immediately:

  • a pinch of salt;
  • a little freshly ground black pepper.

You can also add:

  • fresh chives;
  • parsley ;
  • smoked paprika;
  • sweet pepper;
  • grated parmesan.

These simple little touches make the eggs even tastier.

why does this method work so well?

The combination of circulating heat and moisture created by the water allows for gentle cooking.

The egg white cooks gradually without becoming rubbery.

The yellow color remains soft and pleasant.

The result is surprisingly close to that obtained with the classic simmering water method.

What should you serve poached eggs with?

Poached eggs are extremely versatile.

They are a perfect complement to:

  • toast;
  • of the crushed avocado;
  • smoked salmon;
  • sautéed spinach;
  • mushrooms;
  • asparagus;
  • a green salad.

They can also be served on Air Fryer roasted potatoes for a complete brunch.
